Manly Beach

After we finished our time on the Great Ocean Road, we flew out of Melbourne to Sydney. We decided that we’d stay outside of the city, knowing that we would end up in Sydney anyway, so why not take the opportunity to explore another location. We’d heard great things about the Manly Beach neighborhood and, knowing it was only a short ferry ride from Sydney, decided to make it our home base for our time there. It had a great boardwalk by the ocean we used for a morning run and the marina was especially beautiful, during the day and at night.

We completely lucked out with an Airbnb find in Manly Beach. We found a two-bedroom place that had a fabulous front porch overlooking Little Manly Beach. It was a close enough walk to town and the ferry, but far enough away from the center of it all to be nice and quiet. We enjoyed some great sunsets from our front porch and even had a few visits from “Lenny” the water dragon. Don’t worry, he’s a vegetarian, no need to worry about him coming after us. We left out some banana slices and the tops of some strawberries for him and we were fast friends. Jack loved to see him sunning out on the patio! We were also just down the street from a great little beach that was tucked away in a cove called Collins Flat Beach.

We found Manly Beach to be the perfect hub to explore Sydney during our time there!
