Obviously a big part of this trip revolves around navigating; navigating unfamiliar cities and finding our way to various points of interest and locations we want to visit. For those of you that may not know me well, I am admittedly horrible at this. I am good at many things, but map reading and navigation skills are not at the top of the list. Cartography is likely not in my future, but I’m okay with that. I’ll leave the cartography to Buster…
In the hopes that our son follows more in Matt’s footsteps than mine, part of this trip has involved having him navigate for us. We’ll scout a location that we want to go to, find it on the map and have him decide the best way to get there. Then he uses the map as we go to make sure we’re heading the right way. He’s used everything from a paper map to a cell phone to an actual compass. And I can confidently say he’s already surpassed my skills. I told Matt maybe I should sit in on a “lesson”, but he assured me that I would need the remedial course first to catch up to Jack!
Black swans have white babies? Looks like gorgeous weather!
